How will funds be used?

We have site control of this house, but we need to buy it! Initial funds will assist downpayment and move-in costs, but if we meet all our stretch goals, we could make this a house 100% owned and operated by youth!

What about operating costs?

SMASH gets regular funding from a variety of sources including individuals, foundations and government. We have commitments to pay for operating costs for the first two years, with options to renew.

What if we don't reach funding goal?

The base goal of $50K is high, but totally doable. In the event that we don't meet it, we'll convene the community to figure out the best way to use the house for affordable housing with the funds we have available.

Youth will have several opportunities to design and develop their own community service and impact projects, making this house a hub a safe space for anyone in need of refuge.

The leaders of tomorrow deserve the housing of tomorrow. 100% renewable energy, rain water recycling, and a maker space for creatives.

Training of the Trainers

Youth will benefit from leadership development, and resources to develop their own projects that build power for housing, climate and queer justice!

3 Youth Housed

Youth in this program will finally know freedom from Miami's affordable housing crisis, and will no longer have to choose between shelter and being their authentic selves.
